Master of Computer Applications (MCA) department is established in 2009 with the fast changing ways of business, there has been a tremendous increase in demand for applications software. Software cannot be manufactured; it has to be produced by creative people. So the work of software development is a human-intensive activity. To meet the needs of the above requirements, there is an immense need to produce high quality application developers.
The Department of Master of Computer Applications at Swarnandhra Institute of Engineering & Technology provides students with a healthy combination of research and practice. The Department of MCA aims to give a strong foundation in computer science and problem-solving techniques. The programs have been planned to offer a blend of computers, communication technologies and other information retrieving/processing tools so as to provide the student with the requisite know-how for solving real life problems thereby enabling them to enter the world of opportunities with flying colors and capitalize the huge IT market.
The Department has well qualified and experienced faculty with one Associate professor, Seven Assistant Professors with M.Tech qualifications. The staff members are deputed to participate in workshops, conferences, symposia and refresher courses to keep in pace with recent developments in the field of Information Technology The department has good infrastructure facilities with full-fledged laboratories.
The teaching methodology in the department goes beyond fulfilling the syllabus requirements of the curriculum, to meet the today's industry needs. Faculty motivates and guides the students to do mini projects in core subjects. Special focus is being given to develop Communication and Soft Skills. The department has very good association with industries to uplift the student's practical knowledge. Faculty of the department has publishing papers regularly during the past three years in different journals and conferences
Students are encouraged to actively participate in the Co curricular and extracurricular activities organized on a regular basis by the departmental students' association. They are encouraged to deliver seminar in regular classes and also to present papers in various technical events.
The Placement record is impressive with most of the eligible students receiving placements in IT sectors.
